Supervisor (level 1) for Excavation

Salary: WY05 up to £28,770 (Local Authority pay award pending)

Due to a significant workload, Archaeological Services WYAS are seeking to recruit a level 1 supervisor for excavation. An initial six-month contract will be offered, with a permanent role available in time, based on workload and suitable career progression.
The position is based in Morley, West Yorkshire and would be ideal for candidates looking to commute from Leeds, York, Bradford or Sheffield. While some of the fieldwork is based in Yorkshire, regular away work should be expected. Accommodation, expenses and an overnight allowance are provided whenever you are away.
We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with a great attitude. Opportunities to cross skill to geophysics may be available.
Applicants for this post should have a degree in archaeology (or a related discipline), at least 2-3 years of experience in commercial archaeology and a full UK driving licence.
In the interview, you will need to communicate well and demonstrate an ability to supervise others.
Our standard week is 37 hours. The posts are advertised as full time (unless casual employment is requested). All appropriate training and high-quality PPE are provided.
