Training

Training for consumer facing businesses

To ensure a fair market place, we work with businesses to help them comply with consumer legislation and to promote good practice. Central to this are the training courses and bespoke packages that we provide.

All training is designed and delivered by our experienced Trading Standards professionals. The benefits of attending one of our courses is that you will receive practical and professional advice directly from those responsible for enforcing the law.

We run a number of courses throughout the year, including:

• The Consumer Rights Act for Businesses

This course focuses upon the civil legal framework for the supply of good and services.  It explores in detail the Consumer Rights Act 2015 which has replaced the Sale of Goods Act.

• Food Allergens Training

This half day course is aimed at caterers including takeaways and sandwich shops and provides an introduction to allergens. It includes a comprehensive overview of the 14 allergens covered by the legislation and will cover the sale of food online as well as going through due diligence procedures and systems that can be implemented to prevent the presence of undeclared allergens in food.

• Age Restricted Sales

There are a wide range of products subject to age restricted controls. We can provide training for staff to show that businesses have taken appropriate steps to comply with specific legislation.

It is often the case that businesses recognise the need for training after complaints or investigation procedures.  We want to work with businesses to help prevent complaints and promote due diligence. As a result, we can partner to provide bespoke training designed to meet your business needs.
