The West Yorkshire Business Hive continues to grow in popularity and in June played host to two important local groups. A suite of nine contemporary meeting and conference rooms, the Business Hive is run by West Yorkshire Joint Services at their head office in Morley, Leeds.
Thursday 16 June saw the Local Authority Asbestos Group take the flagship Nepshaw Suite for the day. Representatives from Kirklees, Leeds and Hull councils alongside York University, Nottingham City Homes and East Riding of Yorkshire Homes met to discuss a wide range of issues relating to asbestos in our areas. Their visit included a tour of the West Yorkshire Analytical Services laboratories, which were of great interest to the group, along with an introductory overview of everything that West Yorkshire Joint Services has to offer. Feedback from the group was that they thought the facilities available in the Business Hive were excellent and they all left impressed by both their experience and the services available from WYJS.
Just a week later, on 22 June, the Business Hive hosted the ‘Leeds City Region SME networking event’ organised by the LEP, which saw nearly 60 local business advocates attend to find out about the regulatory support that is available to then across West Yorkshire. Once again they received tours of the laboratories which were of great interest and sparked lots of questions. Delegates also got to experience the range of facilities available in the Business Hive, with other local partners, including the fire service and environmental health, having stands in various rooms to promote their services and support for businesses. The feedback was again very complimentary with attendees praising the organisation, facilities and of course food provided on the day.
