Opening hours

We are delighted to announce that WYAS Bradford will be reopening to the public at Margaret McMillan Tower from Monday 30 June when our enquiry and copy order services will also resume.

Our opening days from the 30 June will be:

  • Monday 09.30am- 4.30pm (closed 1-2pm)
  • Tuesday 09.30am- 4.30pm (closed 1-2pm)

All visitors are required to book their visit and order documents at least one week in advance.  Please do not travel to our building without having received confirmation of your booking.

We have appreciated the support and understanding of researchers during our recent closure. During this time we have been working hard to prepare the collections for the move out of MMT to a new location. Whilst this work is ongoing, we are now in a position to offer a restricted public service on Mondays and Tuesdays for the remainder of 2025. Please be aware that on the days we are not open to the public, we will be continuing to work very hard in the background to prepare the collections for their move to a new location next year.

Appointments

Please contact us by email bradford@wyjs.org.uk to make an appointment.

All visitors are required to book their visit and order documents at least one week in advance. Some records are held in an outstore and may take longer to make available.  Please do not travel to our building without having received confirmation of your booking.

Depending on the nature and size of the collections, the space available in the search room, and staff availability we may need to limit the number of documents you can request. Staff will advise you, at the time of booking, whether any document restrictions apply. We will also advise you on how to access catalogues if you are unsure of the document reference numbers you need

Please read the office guidance before planning your visit.

Please also read our Unacceptable Behaviour statement and our Safe Space in our searchrooms documents.
