The WYAS: Wakefield is now closed.
The Wakefield branch of the West Yorkshire Archive Service closed on the 13th of May 2016 to facilitate the move to the new West Yorkshire History Centre. We anticipate that the new building will open to the public in early 2017.
As of the 13th May 2016 the Wakefield office is not open to the public and we cannot accept remote enquiries from researchers as the records are being moved to a new building. Please keep an eye on our website for updates as to when the Wakefield office will reopen to the public and resubmit your enquiry then.
If your request is for a legally required search or copy please send your request to firstname.lastname@example.org providing full details of what you require and any deadlines that may be relevant and a member of staff will consider your request and respond to your enquiry as soon as they are able, please do not send your request back to the Wakefield email address as it will not be able to respond to it.
