The West Yorkshire Archive Service has worked in partnership with Ancestry.co.uk to digitise, index and make available on their website copies of the Church of England and non-conformist records in our care.

We are grateful to the Dioceses of Bradford, Wakefield and Ripon & Leeds and the parishes in those dioceses, as well as to the West Yorkshire Baptist and Methodist churches for their assistance in enabling this to happen.

June 2011 saw the launch of over just under 9 million individual records from Church of England records in our care. These include:

Births and Baptisms: 1512-1910

Marriages and Banns: 1512-1935

Deaths and Burials: 1512-1985

Confirmations: 1859-1915

This amazing resource was supplemented by over ½ million non-conformist records in April 2012:

Births/Baptisms: 1646-1910

Marriages and Banns: 1659-1935

Deaths and Burials: 1656-1985

Residence: 1772-1973

The following Church of England parishes have not been included at the request of the Incumbent and will not appear in the entries on Ancestry.co.uk :

Bradford Diocese:
BDP6 Bierley, St John
BDP92 Thornton, St James

Wakefield Diocese:
WDP31 Hartshead, St Peter
WDP66 Liversedge, Christchurch
WDP88 Heckmondwike, St James & St Saviour
WDP88 Norristhorpe, All Souls
WDP193 Roberttown, All Saints
