Under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, anyone responsible for the maintenance of non-domestic premises or landlord of domestic premises has a duty to manage the asbestos in them.
To help businesses, local authorities and social housing trusts produce an Asbestos Register of Materials and Asbestos Management Plan, we offer a number of UKAS accredited asbestos testing services. We also provide these services to private individuals who are concerned about the potential of asbestos in their homes.
We work on samples taken from the fabric of a building to identify potential asbestos containing materials. Using microscopy we can detect the presence and type of asbestos in any building material. Our specialist laboratory undertakes bulk sampling analysis to UKAS ISO 17025.
Because we know that our clients are usually working to a tight deadline, especially during a programme of refurbishment, our dedicated laboratory can usually provide a complete analysis report within 48 hours of receiving the sample. A while you wait fast-track service is often available during normal office hours.
In accordance with CAR 2012 and the four stage clearance process, to enable an area to be reoccupied following asbestos removal, it has to be evidenced that air monitoring has taken place. We are experienced in monitoring for the presence of airborne fibres and undertake live data capture in accordance with HSG248 Asbestos: The Analysts’ guide for sampling, analysis and clearance procedures.
Air monitoring can also be provided during the removal of asbestos to ensure stakeholders, their employees and local residents that they are at no risk from the removal process.
