History of WYJS

We provide a diverse range of professional services to both the public and private sectors.

Some of these services fulfil a statutory role in our region such as Trading Standards, Archives and Archaeological Advisory Services whilst others, Analytical Services, Materials Testing, Archaeological Services, Calibration services provide a first class commercial resource which supports businesses locally, nationally and in some instances globally.

Overall, our focus is on ensuring that things are done "right first time" through robust compliance and quality control, whilst supporting economic resilience and regeneration.

Our strategic business plan is the road-map that sets out our vision to enable social and economic prosperity and our mission of delivering trusted shared services that support stronger sustainable communities and an outward looking economy. This plan is based on three inter-connected priorities:

  • potential of our people
  • business and economy
  • environment and heritage.
